BEYOND JOURNAL
Terms of Service
Last updated July 16, 2026
1. The service
Beyond Journal is a web application for logging trades, tracking rules and reviewing performance. These terms are the agreement between you and Beyond Journal for using the site and the application at journal.starbeyondthesky.com (together, the "Service"). By creating an account you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not create an account or use the Service.
2. Your account
An account is personal. It is meant for one human, and the password is meant to stay with that human. Do not share your login with anyone else, including friends, trading groups or Discord communities. If we find an account being shared or accessed from a pattern of use that is clearly more than one person, we may suspend or terminate it without notice. We would rather tell you this plainly now than surprise you later.
You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for anything that happens under your account. Tell us if you think someone else has access to it.
3. The trial
New accounts start with a 7-day trial for a one-time fee of $7. The trial gives you full access to the Service, nothing is held back or gated. Unless you cancel before the 7 days end, the account converts automatically into a paid subscription at the plan and price you selected when you started the trial (currently $29/mo or $249/yr), billed through Stripe.
The $7 trial fee is non-refundable, including if you cancel during the trial.
4. Billing and cancellation
Subscriptions are billed monthly or yearly through Stripe, our payment processor. We do not see or store your full card number; Stripe handles that. You can cancel anytime from your account page. Cancelling stops future billing, and you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for. We do not offer partial refunds for unused time in a billing period.
Prices can change. If we change what a plan costs, we will give existing subscribers reasonable notice before the new price applies to them.
5. Your data
Your journal is stored securely in the cloud so it syncs across your devices and is backed up automatically. Log a trade on your laptop and it is on your phone; lose a device and your journal is still there. We encrypt your data in transit and at rest, we do not sell it, and we never ask for your broker passwords. See the Privacy Policy for the full detail on what we store and how.
You own your journal. You can export all of it at any time from inside the app, and you can ask us to delete your account and its data. We keep sensible backups, but you are responsible for keeping your login secure and for the accuracy of what you log.
6. Acceptable use
Use the Service for its intended purpose: journaling and reviewing your own trading. Do not attempt to break, scrape, reverse engineer or overload the Service; do not use it to store or transmit anything illegal; do not attempt to access another user's account or data. Automated signups and honeypot-triggering registration attempts are treated as abuse and may be blocked.
7. No financial advice
Beyond Journal is a record-keeping and analytics tool. Nothing in the Service, including statistics, charts, the discipline score, the Monte Carlo simulation or anything the pixel star says, is financial, investment or trading advice. Trading involves real risk of loss. Decisions about what to trade, when, and how much to risk are yours alone, and past performance shown in your own journal does not guarantee future results.
8. Limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is." To the maximum extent the law allows, Beyond Journal and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, including lost profits or lost trading data, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the Service changes. If we make a material change, we will post the new terms here with an updated date, and where practical, notify active subscribers by email. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the new terms.
10. Contact
Questions about these terms can be sent to the support address listed on the site, or through your account page.
